The Catholic Church has a rich variety of prayers on offer. The greatest prayer is the Mass, but there are many other prayers. On this webpage are organised various suggestions for prayer organised according to beginner, intermediate and advanced. Here are some steps to consider as part of your decision making process
1) Only make a 15 minute change per day to your prayer routine. This is the equivalent of a daily rosary or a short meditation time. It could be that you aim for three half hour meditation times per week which is about 15 minutes per day. A small change such as this is achievable. Inch by inch is a sinch, yard by yard is too hard.
2) Build up structured prayer before meditation. Based on experience it is better to establish a structured prayer routine first before a deeper meditation routine since it is an easier step to just pray a structured prayer. But each person is different so feel free to give meditation or contemplation a try first if you like.
3) Always try to have some bible reading as part of your prayer life. That is why we suggest you start with Mark's gospel first. Praying evening prayer has scripture included.
Write in your journal what you have decided. You may like to write a prayer in your journal asking for the graces you need or use the one in the following step.
