How to review Pedagogy

This review process is the second phase of the reviewing content. It is the phase to improve how the content is written so it is easier to understand. Pedagogy is also the phase when interactives such as quizzes are added to the content. Both these tasks are suited to teachers or people good at explaining things.

CHOOSING CONTENT TO BE REVIEWED

Docs will be the content type that you will review.

Once you have been granted the pedagog role, you will have a list of resources to pedagogically review on your profile that acts as a dashboard. If you find content on the site that needs pedalogical improvement, then you can either review it yourself or send it to review.

To send it for review, click on the edit button, giving a comment of your concerns and changing the status to review pedagogy (the live version will still be live, but the editable version will now be set to pedagogy review). There can only be one version going through review at a time.

To review it yourself, just click on the edit button and follow the method below.

WHAT TO CLICK AND EDIT

You may find this tour of editing the doc useful. A tour will be setup specifically for reviewing a doc.

To start the review, click on the edit button (either on the resource or in the list of resources for pedagogy review).

Edit the document appropriately in the 'body', ie to make the content explanation better.

Towards the bottom there is an 'Interactive' set of options. There is a comprehensive explanation on the H5P website which explains the basics and then how to add each type of interactive.

The ones we suggest to be used are:

Multiple Choice

Interactive Video

Fill in the Blanks

Mark the Words

Single Choice Set

True/False Question (no tutorial yet)

Summary

Drag the Words

Drag and Drop

There are many more that can be chosen.

Make a comment in the 'Revision log message' (top right). This comment will normally make the point(s) of what you fixed and maybe why.

Change the status at the bottom to 'review eloquence'.

Click save.

HOW TO REVIEW

Firstly read through and edit the text in the 'body' of the Doc. Then add about 5 interactives. Try to have a variety of types and difficulty. With such things as multiple choice, try to have an answer that can make it a bit challenging to choose the right answer, rather than a set of obviously wrong answers. You may also want to have a humorous answer. Some answers may be interesting answers that raise interesting questions.

If you want some more guidance you can always send a message to the site admin.
