Prayer Overview

If you just want to start to pray staight away, then we suggest start with this simple method.

To follow Jesus means to get to know Jesus. We can learn about Jesus by reading the Bible or going to Mass. But only if we do these things prayerfully will we encounter Jesus personally. We must have a daily prayer time if we are to build our friendship with Jesus and get to know him personally.

Prayer is a journey deeper into God's love and truth. It is unique and personal for each of us. The best way to pray is the way you pray best. Prayer should always be open to God. That seems obvious, but when explaining a method of prayer some people can become too focused on the method and not be open to God's action in prayer. So always be open to God's action in prayer and ask for the gift of prayer.

If you don't have a personal prayer time, then you have come to right place. This prayer course is aimed to help you deepen in prayer and eventually develop a prayer routine that is truly transformative and powerful in your life. We will be drawing on the best there is in the history of the Church to guide you on that journey. We have three stages of prayer development called Alpha, Chi and Omega. Jesus is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega (Rev 22:13) (alpha (Α) and omega (Ω) are the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet). Jesus is the Christ. Christ comes from the Greek word Christos which starts with the Greek letter Chi (Χ). So our prayer course starts and ends in Jesus and is centered on Jesus.
